 - NKE Bearings received the "Best Workplaces for Women™" certification from Great Place To Work® for the first time on Friday 8th of March 2024.

- The Austrian company has reached the 9th position in the Top 10 Best Worwplaces for Women 2024 in Austria.

NKE Bearings, the Austrian bearing manufacturer for wind energy, railway and industrial applications has been awarded with the “Best Workplaces for Women™” certification from the company Great Place To Work® for the first time. Not only it has received this recognition, but it has become one of the best 10 companies to have received it in Austria, reaching the 9th position in the rank.

The annual competition focuses on the female employees of the participating companies. The certification is based on an anonymous survey completed by female employees, which covers the five dimensions of: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and team spirit.

NKE’s General Manager, Matthias Ortner, has expressed his delighting with “the exceptional performance of the company and the trust that the employees have placed in NKE” and has addressed that, this recognition is “a confirmation of our efforts to promote equal opportunities and diversity”.

NKE’s HR Business Partner, Alexander Gstöttner, has added: “With their commitment and dedication, all employees have contributed to making our work environment a place where women not only feel comfortable, but also empowered to develop their full potential”.

This award is not the end, but one more milestone on NKE’s way to an even more inclusive and diverse work culture. Ortner maintains that the management team in NKE knows that “there is still much to be done, and at the same time, it’s determined to continue with this commitment to create an environment where all voices are heard and all people have the opportunity to succeed, regardless of gender, background, color, religion or sexual orientation”.

One of the surveyed female employees, Krempl Veronika, Head of IT, addressed that “flexibility and compatibility with the family are certainly the main issues at companies, but also that there is female representation in positions where men normally predominate. In NKE we value that there are women in management positions working part-time and that, per se, is not an exclusion criterion for senior positions.”

NKE Bearings offers a great platform for professional and personal development. As part of the corporate group FERSA, it offers an exciting mix of regionality and international perspectives. This award is further confirmation of our efforts to create the best possible environment for our employees.

How the Best Workplaces for Women™ have been determined

Great Place to Work® identifies the best employers using the “For All™” methodology to evaluate and certify thousands of organizations worldwide. In Austria, the "Best Workplaces for Women™ 2024" list is based on around 500.000 questions & answers from employee surveys in companies representing more than 30.000 employees.

The survey allows employees to provide confidential, quantitative and qualitative feedback on their organization's workplace culture by answering 60 statements using a 5-point scale and two open-ended questions. These statements describe a great workplace culture characterized by high levels of trust, respect, credibility, fairness, pride and team spirit.

In the evaluations, Great Place to Work® also takes into account differences between demographic groups and roles within each organization to assess both the quality and consistency of workplace culture.

The results of each employee survey make it possible to compare and classify which of the organizations create the most consistent, positive experiences for female employees in their day-to-day work. Different company sizes are taken into account in the evaluations to ensure a fair comparison of all participating companies.

To be considered for the Best Workplaces for Women 2024 list, companies must have an active Great Place to Work-Certified™ certification by the deadline of December 15, 2023, receive at least 18 responses from women in Austria and achieve statistically significant responses in the employee survey.

In addition, statements from the questionnaire relevant to gender balance and the proportion of female managers in the participating companies are taken into account separately in the evaluation.

Great Place to Work® ensures that participating companies adhere to strict survey rules in order to validate the integrity of the results and findings.
