Summer children's programme at NKE Austria in Steyr

. Nicole Roll

In order to make it easier for employees to look after their children during the summer holidays, NKE Austria GmbH offered a two-week summer children's programme.

The childcare programme on the company's premises at Stadtgut Steyr started on 22 July and ended on 2 August. In total, 18 children aged between three and 13 years were looked after by employees of the Family Federation of Upper Austria.

For the care programme, the two largest meeting rooms at NKE were set up, where instead of meetings, craft workshops and games were held, and where children painted, put on make-up, sang, read aloud and even cooked together.
To let off steam, the children could race their bikes and scooters on the cordoned-off road at the end of the company premises. When the temperatures rose, the meadow at the entrance area was transformed into a water playground. Further highlights of the programme were a guided tour through the production, pony rides on the final day and a meeting with managing director Thomas Witzler.

"It was a great help for the parents that two weeks of childcare were covered during the holiday period," says Thomas Witzler about the holiday program. "And for the children it was great fun. They are already looking forward to our family day in September, where we at NKE have a barbecue together and the children can meet their new friends again.

We are looking forward to summer 2020
