NKE invests in new 3D CAD programme

. Janet Mo

NKE recently invested in a new 3D CAD programme, SolidWorks, to further increase the efficiency in product design and development. The new software will replace the previous 2D programmes.

NKE develops all its bearings at its headquarters in Steyr, Austria. As the product range gets broader and customers more demanding, new information technology solutions are required to meet such challenges. The new programme offers more flexibility, user-friendliness, and easier data administration. It also facilitates easier visualisation and interpretation.

“With the assistance of this new 3D CAD programme, we are in an even better position to develop better solutions for our customers, with higher efficiency”, said Roland Gruber, NKE’s chief engineer.

NKE develops and manufactures both standard and special bearings. The company’s core functions – such as engineering, product development, production, quality assurance, logistics, sales and marketing – are centralised at its headquarters in Steyr, Austria.
