Strategic focus of the production site in Steyr

In the past years we have been heavily expanding our production site in Steyr, especially critical manufacturing processes such as the new modular assembly lines for standard and special bearings. Further investments in our Austrian production plant will focus on the expansion of mechanical processing capacities, such as CNC turning, grinding and super-finishing of high-value and critical parts.
 
Our 10,000-square-metre (100,000-sqf) headquarters in Steyr is equipped with modern production facilities and quality assurance systems. Depending on product group, the following manufacturing and assembly processes are carried out in Steyr:

• CNC turning/grinding and finishing of special and critical components (planned)
• Grinding processes for matching pairs (e.g. taper roller units)
• Final processing of raceways
• Modular assembly of components (medium and large size, mainly cylindrical roller and ball bearings)
• Hot riveting of brass cages with steel rivets or integrated brass rivets
• Demagnetisation 
• Laser marking
• Cleaning and preservation
• Packing

NKE AUSTRIA has been constantly expanding its Steyr product site. This will ensure quality, flexibility, and cost advantage in the long term.
